Just a fanon thing for my Crossover! AU! versions of Suzume (Suzy) Mizuno from the manga and anime series, Konjiki No Gash (Zatch) Bell!
About
Note: My memory is very frizzy so I may forgot some details. My Suzume-Centric crossover fanworks started in the late 2000s and early 2010s when I first got into roleplaying on Tumblr. Suzume was my very first RP muse. A RP thread inspired my very first crossover AU, Atonement, a Gash Bell! and Digimon Frontier crossover fanfiction. From there, I've fan-created various Suzume-Centric crossover AUs such as Vicinityverse, Traverse, Silentverse, Capturedverse, Plasticverse, Paperverse, Vacantverse/Lostverse and much more.I am also a HUGE Suzume-crossover shipper. I shipped Suzume the most in my crossover ships. =)
FAQ
iQ: Why you don't use Suzume's English dub name in your crossover fanworks?A: Because I don't like the name "Suzy" for Suzume. It was a poor choice in my opinion. Suzume's English dub names should have been Suzanna, Suzan or Suzanne. If I would ever write a "English Dub Names/Surnames" crossover fanfiction for nostalgia one day, I'd used my fangiven names for Suzume.Q: Why do you ship Suzume with so many characters from other series?A: My crossover brain always defaulted towards Suzume every time I watch/read a new series for potential crossover AU/crossover ship ideas. I don't always ship Suzume romantically with every non-Zatch Bell character I see. I have some platonic ships for her as well. My personal headcanons for Suzume usually influenced this.Q: You used to be so passionate about a certain crossOTP of yours during your Digimon crossovers days. What happened?A: I will not get into details, but let's say a certain RP incident ruined my love for this crossover ship. I do think about the crossover ship sometimes, but because I am somehow still traumatized by the incident, I just can't bring myself to reconcile with the crossover ship. A certain crossover AU is on hold because of this experience alone.Q: Do you think you'd ever break out of your Suzume-centric crossover AUs/ships muse one day?A: Honestly, I wanted to take a break fro my Suzume/Zatch Bell crossover AUs and focus on my non-Suzume/Zatch Bell crossovers, but like I said, my crossover mind will always defaulted to Suzume/Zatch Bell, so I don't think I ever will.Q: I noticed Suzume is OOC in crossover AUs sometimes. Do you hate the canon protrayal of Suzume from her canon source?A: I only despised Suzume's anime portrayal. The anime writers had done her dirty by discrediting and exaggerating her traits. I used the manga (Canon as written/drawn by Makoto Raiku himself) as a reference to her portrayal/traits in my crossover AUs. I hardly referenced Anime! Suzume traits. My writing of Suzume in crossover AUs is a mixture of her canon (manga) traits/moments and my own personal CrossAU! Suzume headcanons.Q: You say you despised the anime version of Suzume, yet you used her anime! hair/eye color in your crossover AUs. What's up with that?As I said, I only despised her portrayal, not her physical appearance. I guess I should give the anime some credit. If it wasn't for the Gash Bell anime, I wouldn't even know Suzume existed years ago. The anime got me into the manga and the rest is history. Suzume's physical features became too iconic for me to ingore.Q: What's up with the "OOC! Mizuno Suzume" and "AU! Mizuno Suzume" tags on your AO3?I added those as a warning to the ones who expected to read Canon! (Manga!) Suzume or Anime! Suzume in my crossover fanworks.
